She's started opening doors, which means we have to be super vigilant about locking all the doors that lead outside. It also means you can have a surprise visitor almost anywhere. She continues to play on her own more and more, which is heavenly for Mommy.
On the less pleasant end of the spectrum, she has also been screaming over the last few days. High pitched, top of her voice, someone is trying to chop off my little finger screaming. Let's hope this phase is a fast one.
She is fairly consistent about getting her little broom (and my big one for that matter) out of the closet in the laundry room to encourage me and help me to sweep around the dining room table. She doesn't understand that sometimes Mommy doesn't feel like sweeping. At least she's keeping me honest.
Another new game is trying on shoes. Cousin Audrey gave us a box of hand-me-down shoes recently, and Morgen likes to take the shoes out of the box, put them in the box, hand them to Mommy to put on her feet - sometimes as matching pairs, sometimes not. It's a good low impact activity for Mom, so we do this fairly often.
Morgen continues to adore dogs of any kind. I got an email with pictures of lab puppies available for adoption, and I showed her the pictures. She wanted to see them over and over (and over and over) again. She just giggled and smiled and leaned in to kiss the screen. So cute!!
On Friday, we met a couple of neighbors and their kiddos, and while we talked just inside our little mini-neighborhood, about half of our mini-hood neighbors drove, walked, or cycled by. I finally felt like we truly live in a neighborhood again. We'd met all of our neighbors and like everyone, but I guess meeting a couple of other moms really sealed the deal. Hooray!
Off to work on the baby sweater...who will it be for? It all depends on how long it takes me to finish, and in what season it's finished. :)
Here's a couple of pics of Morgen and Audrey from the weekend, courtesy of Rich (Jeff's Dad):
