We discovered that Morgen is a big fan of walks around the neighborhood awhile ago, but today we learned that when she's fussy, we can take her outside and distract her for quite a while. Woo hoo! Her fussy time is from 5:30/6pm till she eats around 6:45/7pm, so we'll be doing more evening walking, especially as the weather improves.
Funny things that Morgen has started doing:
- Pursing her lips when offered the pacifier to indicate, "Heck no!"
- Pushing our hands away when offered the pacifier to indicate, "Heck no!"
- Sucking on our hands and gnawing on our fingers to the point that I fear some damage when the first tooth breaks through
- Truly testing her voice with little yelps and screams (This one was only funny the first time.)
She's gone two nights without nursing between 10:30/11pm and 7am. Hooray! The first night she slept through, and the second she woke up twice thanks to my clueless consumption of wasabi at dinner. Der. Lesson learned and then some.
We got a great tip from our neighbor about how to keep Morgen swaddled without the risk of her rolling over. Rolled up burp clothes (or similar) at her sides prevent her from actually rolling - think of them as speedbumps. M. sleeps so much better swaddled, so I'm excited to see how she fares tonight.
