We got back from a 6 day / 5 night trip to Mexico with Morgen, and I am SO glad to be home. There would have been no vacation time for me if my Mom hadn't been with us (what a trooper!). With her help, I was able to get quite a few hours a day of downtime (reading in the shade by the pool for the most part), and I managed to visit the spa for a massage and for a facial. Morgen didn't sleep well; she woke 2-3 (or more) times / night, so that made things a bit challenging. She handled air travel quite well, only crying a bit.
On the trip, Morgen really started reaching for toys while on her tummy, so that was fun to see. Plus she's getting more adept at passing toys between her hands. Or at least grabbing a toy with one hand and yanking it from the other.
Jeff was able to fish and dive - both firsts for him. He had a great time! Morgen had her first swimming experience, too. So fun. Pictures will be posted in a few days.
Lesson learned: We'll save our vacations for when M. is a bit older OR at least go into a trip knowing that our daily routine will be a lot like it is at home just in a different location (at least for me).
Just before the trip, Morgen was on a routine where she was eating every 4 hours and was back to sleeping through the night (about 10pm to 7am). Well, travel and poor sleep managed to screw that up, so we're working to get back on track. Should be a fun week or so. ;)
Morgen had her 4 month doc visit just before the vacation, and she's 12 lbs. and nearly 24 inches. She had her second major set of shots (and had a fever the next day but recovered quickly) and is on track developmentally. As a matter of fact, she rolled from her back to her front today! She's actually better at that direction than front to back. She's done it 4 times (each time to reach a toy of interest) just this afternoon. We've entered the world of movement. Yikes!
Morgen is also chewing on everything possible. She leans towards people and things with her mouth wide open - pretty funny.
I'm about to pass out now as it approaches 7pm, so that's it for now.
