Well, most of the first week was spent in the hospital. We stayed an extra day due to the amount of healing that I required (see previous post for that explanation), so we got home Thursday afternoon.
Morgen was great, despite the fact that my milk hadn't come in (Note: Some pain meds delay your milk from coming in!!), and I was moving slowly and sitting tenderly.
Warning: You may not wish to read the next paragraph. Continue at your own risk.
The biggest issue during week one was the first bowel movement. Ladies, I highly recommend significant fiber intake each day from the point where you think you may go into labor. (e.g., Fiber One bars) You do NOT want to get constipated. Let's just say that the result of my situation was torn stitches, a number of very uncomfortable days, and visits to St. David's for "wound care" for the first 6 weeks after delivery.
From the first week, Morgen has slept for 5 1/2 - 7 hours with an additional 2 1/2 hours after a late night snack. We realize that we're very lucky, though continue to be taunted with stories of my cousin and Jess and J.C., who both have babies that sleep 12 hours a night and have since coming home!!
